New earthing equipment for tramways

The equipment includes the TTIR lathe specially designed
by our R&D&I department for underground tramway rails.

PATF-PC
The equipment PATF-PC is composed of:

  • 1 PC aluminium alloy clamps with screw tighten for cylindrical conductors with diameter 35 max.

  • 1 copper cables with PVC insulation of 50 mm2 section and 7 m of length.

  • 1 TTIR milling earthing lathe.

  • 1 nylon bags to store and transport the equipment.

PATF-PDC
The equipment PATF-PDC is composed of:

  • 1 PDC aluminium alloy clamps with screw tighten and bayonet for cylindrical conductors with diameter between 12 and 27 mm.

  • 1 copper cables with PVC insulation of 50 mm2 section and 7 m of length.

  • 1 TTIR milling earthing lathe.

  • 1 nylon bags to store and transport the equipment

FIVE SEVERAL REASONS TO PROTECT PERSONNEL WORKING ON CIRCUITS BY INSTALLING TEMPORARY EARTHING:
 

1. Induced voltage from adjacent live lines.
2. Lightning strikes anywhere in the circuit.
3. Switchgear failure or human error.
4. Accidental contact with adjacent lines.
5. Backfeed from incorrectly connected solar panels or generators.
 

Any of these factors can cause a circuit to be re-energised and most operators in the railway sector therefore consider that there is always a potential risk and set strict rules for temporary earthing at work.
