When the operator approaches an electric field between 1 kV and 10 kV, at an approximate distance of 40 cm for 1 kV and 2 m for 10 kV, the detector emits an audible warning to indicate that the operator is in a hazardous area. The alarm continues until the operator moves away from the voltage source. The device remains constantly active.
