A day to care for our environment, remember those who are part of our story and continue to grow together.
Last Sunday, 25 October, we enjoyed a very special day as we came together for a walk that brought the SOFAMEL Forest to life. This initiative allowed us to bring together physical activity, sustainability, team spirit and remembrance in a place that holds special significance for us: La Pobla de Claramunt.
The SOFAMEL team and their families enjoyed a different kind of morning, shaped by our commitment to the environment and to the values at the heart of our company.
The initiative was built around four clear objectives: to encourage physical activity and healthy habits through a walk accessible to all participants; to help restore a mountainous area affected by the wildfires that struck La Pobla de Claramunt last July, the municipality where our offices, laboratory and production facility are located; to pay tribute to our colleague Cíntia Uroz; and to continue strengthening the bonds between the people who make up SOFAMEL beyond the workplace.
The day was particularly moving as we remembered our colleague Cíntia Uroz. Sharing this moment surrounded by nature and planting trees that will grow over the years was a symbolic way of keeping her memory alive and expressing our gratitude for everything she meant to those who were fortunate enough to share their journey with her.
The creation of the SOFAMEL Forest was also an opportunity to strengthen relationships between colleagues outside the workplace. Beyond our day-to-day professional lives, we were able to share experiences, conversations and moments that help us continue to build a strong team and reinforce the sense of belonging that unites us.
Every tree planted that day represents much more than a reforestation effort. It represents our commitment to the local area that is our home, our determination to play an active role in protecting the natural environment, and our responsibility to act with future generations in mind.
At SOFAMEL, we believe that companies also have an important role to play in building a more sustainable future and caring for the communities they are part of. Initiatives like this allow us to give a little something back to the environment that gives us so much every day.
